A Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) serves as a direct clinical provider within the behavioral health team, delivering comprehensive, patient-centered psychiatric care with expertise and compassion. PMHNPs conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, address patient concerns regarding symptoms or treatment responses, and provide clarification on care plans while maintaining consistent communication with the clinical team.
They ensure smooth daily operations through accurate documentation, timely follow-up management, coordinated treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary providers. This role supports high-quality mental health care by promoting clinical excellence, person-centered support, and evidence-based practice within a collaborative therapeutic environment.
Skills & Competencies
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in the state of Florida.
- Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a PMHNP or in a psychiatric care setting.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably eClinicalWorks.
